"At the heart of my vision for Fayetteville is not just a set of predefined policies, but a commitment to dynamic leadership, continuous engagement with the community's needs, and ACTION. The role of a mayor is multifaceted, it requires leading city employees and partnerships but also an active, hands-on approach to address the city's challenges and opportunities."

ACTION ITEMS

Hire a full-time long-range planner to focus specifically on housing issues.
Implement a HOUSING FIRST mentality with regard to our unhoused community members
Establish the Fayetteville Tree Corps, a joint partnership between the city and residents to plant a significant number of trees in preparation of our city’s 200th birthday.
Elevate support for small businesses in Fayetteville by reducing bureaucratic hurdles for starting and running a small business.
Improve the partnership with our state’s flagship University. I will develop and implement a strategy for city and University relations that addresses both the rewards and the challenges our growing college town is facing.
Increase our openness and accountability while making city meetings more accessible to all residents.

Housing

Acknowledging the severity of our housing gap is only the first step. We need leadership that listens, learns, and is also bold and decisive. As your mayor, I am committed to being that leader.

Being a Welcoming Community

I love that we have the state’s largest Pride Parade, but we have to assess how we are showing up for marginalized communities more often than once a year.
